Foley and Lewis Win First IRONMAN Titles

Lauren Foley and Skye Lewis secured their first career IRONMAN triathlon victories with come-from-behind performances at the 2023 IRONMAN World Championship in St. George, Utah. Foley, a 23-year-old Australian, overcame a five-minute deficit on the bike to win the women's race in 8:34:01. Lewis, a 26-year-old South African, also rallied on the bike to take the men's title in 7:45:36. Both athletes earned the maximum 5,000 points for their victories.

Nice and Kona to Co-Host 2024 Event

The pinnacle event in triathlon, the 2024 VinFast IRONMAN World Championship, will be jointly held in Nice, France (women) and Kailua-Kona, Hawaii (men). It will be the first time the event has been held outside of Kona since its inception in 1978. The women's race will take place on October 5, 2024, while the men's race will be held on October 12, 2024.

NBC will air an annual IRONMAN World Championship special that will chronicle the event's historic 45th anniversary. The special will feature behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with athletes, and highlights from the races. It will air on NBC in the United States and on IRONMAN's global digital platforms.
