The Devastating School Shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School
A Tragedy that Shocked the Nation
On October 24, 2014, a horrific shooting occurred at Marysville-Pilchuck High School in Marysville, Washington. 15-year-old freshman Jaylen Fryberg tragically shot five students, resulting in the deadliest high school shooting in the state's history.
A Senseless Act of Violence
Jaylen Fryberg, who had recently been named to the homecoming court, opened fire on his classmates. The shooting claimed the life of one student and injured four others. Fryberg then turned the gun on himself, ending his own life.
Police have not yet determined a motive for the shooting. However, they have revealed that Fryberg used a relative's legal 40-caliber Beretta pistol to carry out the attack.
